Question: I am cured from Cushing's but now have extremely dry, itchy skin and a rash. Is this common after recovery from Cushing's?

Answer: Dry, itchy skin are symptoms that could be explained by some deterioration of thyroid function, a condition that occurs frequently after pituitary surgery (20-30%). We routinely check the patient for presence of hypothyroidism and provide replacement therapy, if necessary.
