Question: I have been cured of adrenal Cushing's and am now having muscle burning. Is this normal for post-Cushing's and are Cushing's patients prone to any connective tissue disorders?

Answer: The fatigue, aches e.t.c. that occur postoperatively are a very common cortisol withdrawal syndrome. A small proportion of patients may have hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis however. It appears that the incidence of autoimmune diseases goes up in patients with Cushing syndrome after cure.
