I cant' believe it's only been three and a half years since my surgery! It took a full year for my diagnosis and another year for my remaining adrenal gland to start working! Waiting for my adrenal gland to start producing cortisol was challenging, but I managed it fairly well. When I learned that my adrenal gland WAS functioning, instead of being glad, I suffered major depression. I invested two years and more in getting healthy and was at a loss as to what to do with my life. I would like to say Cushing's caused it, but there were other issues also. I have been mentally and physically well for almost two years now. I enjoy working and my days are full. Last year for the first time in 25 years of our marriage, my husband and I went on a vacation to Ireland without our kids. It was grand! This year we are traveling to the West Coast. Life is good! Many thanks to my Cushing's friends, doctors, and my husband!
