Here's an update on what's been happening with me. After 3 1/2 years it appears that I am "cured". So much has happened since I was first told I had Cushing's in December 1994. I thought after my transsphenoidal I would lose all the weight and be feeling great within 6 months. It didn't happen. It has been a struggle. Every time I felt better and normal, there was another surprise waiting behind the hidden door.

Suddenly, when I thought there was no cure, it just happened. In June, my ACTH level was higher than it ever has been - 688. Today, it is down to 191 and declining. The radiation is working. I just want to let others know - don't give up. Keep a smile on your face and look at all the things you can do, not what you can't. Cushing's has made me a stronger and better person. I have met wonderful people and made lifelong friends. We have a connection that no one else does. When you feel lost and alone I urge you to pick up the phone and call another member. You will be surprised - you are not alone.
