I was diagnosed with Cushing's in 1961 at age 14. At that time I had radiation to my pituitary, which was effective for 5 years. In 1965, I had a bilateral adrenalectomy, followed by a transsphenoidal removal of my pituitary gland in 1972. Overall, the results have been very good. I am in good health, although I have some bad days. I have also recently dropped my hydrocortisone dosage, and feel that my replacement dosage has been too high for a long time. I do have osteoporosis. I have collected a large amount of information that I would be willing to share with anyone who is interested. I have been fortunate enough to find doctors who have been willing to study me, and I have the greatest admiration and praise for them. Cushing's has also strengthened my faith a great deal. I would like to do whatever I can to help others.
